Provides a 4G internet connection on the RC Enterprise, for fast, hassle free skippy data sync and image upload anywhere.
Provides a connection for network RTK.
Provides 4g backup for the drone signal when scouting fields with terrain, close to the ground - no more signal loss or failed missions!
You will need:
2x DJI Cellular Dongle (LTE USB Modem) from DJI or direct from BT here
2 x BT Drone data sim cards - we can arrange a call back from BT to purchase these if required
Or just one if you just want to give your RC Pro an internet connection1 x Mount Kit
Setup:
Open the back of the RC Pro/Enterprise controller, insert one of the dongles, connecting the USBC and the 4g antenna.
Doesn't matter which dongle if you have two.Install the dongle mount on your drone, install the dongle, and connect the provided USBC cable to the port on the back of the drone.
Power up the RC and Drone, launch DJI Pilot 2.
With a WIFI connection. Ensure all firmware is up to date - it will most likely prompt you to update the firmware.
On the RC, go into the main settings (for the controller, not in Pilot app).
Choose “Network & Internet” then choose Mobile Network.
In the advanced settings, click on "APN.", then click “Access Point Names”.
Select the Internet “everywhere” APN.
Restart the RC.
Enable 4G in the Pilot app - tap the 4g icon on the flight screen (top right) and ‘enable’ enhanced transmission.
Sometimes it will take a few minutes to register a 4g signalYou should now see it enabled along with single strength.
Each time you fly:
If you turn the drone off:
Force-close Skippy Scout
Open DJI Pilot and enable 4G
Force close DJI Pilot
Use Skippy Scout as normal
Soon this will not be needed as we will integrate 4G directly into the Skippy Scout app.
Private 4G server for Enterprise
Data is routed through DJI servers as standard, there is an optional Private 4G server option, available from BT: The private 4G Server architecture built by BT ensures your data such as Media, Control and RTK is protected and remains within the UK when operating over 4G.
